Language is more than vocabulary and grammar - it is a gateway to new perspectives, cultures, and connections.
At The Language Studio, we believe that every language carries the stories, values, and experiences of the people who speak it. Through language learning, we not only develop communication skills but also deepen our understanding of the world and the communities that shape it.
We believe that no language is small. While global languages help us connect across borders, less widely spoken languages preserve unique knowledge, traditions, and ways of seeing the world. Every culture has valuable lessons embedded within its language.
As our community grows, we hope to expand our teaching team to include more Indigenous, heritage, and underrepresented languages. Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Yucatán, we are especially committed to supporting and celebrating the Maya language and culture.
Whether you are taking your first steps in a new language or refining advanced skills, you are joining a community that believes languages build bridges, broaden horizons, and bring people together.
Together, we learn. Together, we grow. Together, we build bridges.

Previous Professional Experience
Before entering education, Kathryn worked in the field of human rights advocacy. She founded the Community Alliance for the Ethical Treatment of Youth (CAFETY), an organization dedicated to improving conditions for young people in institutional settings. Her advocacy work led to opportunities to testify before the United States Congress, participate in consultations with United Nations experts, and collaborate with national and international organizations focused on human rights and disability rights. In 2013, she was selected as an Echoing Green finalist, recognizing her work as a social entrepreneur and advocate. These experiences strengthened her leadership, communication, and cross-cultural skills - qualities she now brings to her work as an educator.
